  On-site; 2nd shift (3pm to 11:30pm) after onboarding (8am to 4pm). Travel is up to 10%.
• DURATION: 3 months (potential to be extended/converted)

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer IV/Manufacturing and Process Engineer to support large‑scale manufacturing and process engineering initiatives within a robotics and advanced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on process optimization, cost reduction, and New Product Introduction (NPI) in a fast‑paced production setting.

The position will primarily support second shift operations
, which are being implemented for the first time, and will work closely with a small team of process engineers to establish scalable manufacturing processes.

• Actively support and foster a culture of inclusion.
• Own process optimization and cost‑reduction initiatives for sustaining processes.
• Own the creation of optimized manufacturing and test processes for New Product Introduction (NPI).
• Implement technology and tooling improvements to impact safety, quality, and cost targets.
• Perform critical process reviews, including risk and hazard assessments.
• Lead the development and validation of processes specific to NPI programs.
• Write business and operational planning documents for capital equipment and plant infrastructure.
• Ability to travel ~10% to support projects when standard business travel practices resume.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of GMP
• Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), including phase‑gate processes
• Strong project management experience and familiarity with project management tools
• Proficiency with CAD tools, including AutoCAD and Solid Works
• Experience using structured problem‑solving methodologies such as: 8D, Fishbone / Cause‑and‑Effect, CAPA
• Quality and statistical tools: PFMEA, control charting, Pareto analysis, histograms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including metrics reporting

• MBA or advanced engineering degree
• Proven ability to manage and deliver projects with aggressive timelines
• Strong analytical and data‑driven problem‑solving skills
• Experience in manufacturing or process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
• Experience with:
  Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP systems, Tooling and equipment programming
• Experience with process optimization tools such as programming, mapping, simulation, or algorithm development
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and in team environments

This is a Contract position based out of Westborough, MA.

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
