Mechanical Engineer II – Actalent
We are seeking an outstanding Mechanical Engineer II with superb technical and analytical capabilities. The successful candidate will develop 3D and 2D mechanical designs and perform related analyses for flight‑critical avionics systems, working on both prototype and production‑level designs.
Responsibilities- Develop 3D and 2D mechanical designs for flight‑critical avionics systems.
- Conduct analyses to ensure designs meet required specifications.
- Design mechanical assemblies utilizing rapid‑prototype tooling and production tooling.
- Manage projects efficiently to ensure timely completion.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure design integrity and functionality.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or an equivalent field.
- Proficiency in MCAD software for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Experience designing mechanical assemblies with rapid‑prototype tooling.
- Experience with production tooling and project management.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Dassault 3DExperience Enovia for PLM and Dassault 3DExperience CATIA for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Ability to conduct thermal simulation analysis using ANSYS Ice Pak and/or Siemens Star CCM.
- Proficiency in mechanical stack‑up analysis and structural load analysis.
- Familiarity with engineering project management software such as JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering.
- 3–5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Strong Solid Works and AutoCAD design experience.
- Familiar with packaging base materials and systems, and the ability to write and implement packaging SOPs and WIs.
The position operates on a 2nd‑shift schedule, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Monday through Friday. The role involves working within an industry‑leading robotics team focused on innovation and high‑quality engineering solutions.
Job Type & LocationContract position based out of Westborough, MA.
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $43.00–$47.50 per hour.
