Transcendent Brands is a growing company that owns and operates drive‑through coffee stands and car washes and is looking for our next team member to join the Finance Department. This role is an opportunity to help develop processes and grow professional capacity in an entrepreneurial environment. They’ll report directly to the Controller and support the CFO, gaining hands‑on experience in everything from interim financial statement preparation to budgeting and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities Core Accounting & Operations- Process & Control: Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Accounts Payable: Review invoices in Restaurant 365 and process Cash Pro ACH/Wire payments (scheduled and ad‑hoc).
- Compliance: Assist with sales tax filings, preparations, and business card management.
- The Close: Support the month‑end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries.
- Reconciliation: Review and reconcile cash, prepaid accounts, AP, intercompany payments, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Reporting: Prepare month‑end financial reports for management review.
- Maintain and improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation as the organization scales.
- Partner with operations and field leadership to investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.
- Complete ad‑hoc projects and requests from the Controller and CFO to support the organization’s explosive growth.
- Self‑motivated and proactive, who’ll take ownership of projects and seeks out opportunities to make processes smoother and more efficient.

Required:
- Has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or related field).
- Minimum work experience of 1-3 years’ as a Staff Accountant (or similar position).
- General proficiency with Microsoft 365 platform.
Preferred:
- Experience with Restaurant 365 and Cash Pro software.
- Experience with 1099 fillings.
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Conditional Formatting, etc.).
- Reports directly to the Corporate Controller.
- This position has no direct reports.
- Remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Communicate effectively with team members and vendors in person, by phone, and through email.
- Occasionally move about the office to retrieve files, office supplies, or attend meetings.
- Lift and carry items such as files, office materials, or small packages weighing up to approximately 20 pounds.
- Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm EST (Flexible on start/end time for the right candidate.)
- Fully in‑person, office‑based position.
- Work could require extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed to settle the accounting of events.
