Since its founding in 1973, YA has grown into the region’s most comprehensive arts education organization. Our venue is the school. YA delivers teaching artist-led arts programming directly in PK-12th grade schools through residencies, workshops, performances, and teacher professional learning. Position Description—Marketing Associate 20 hrs/week, Exempt
Are you ready to use your marketing and digital communication skills to tell the inspiring story of an organization that brings transformative arts education to nearly 260,000 students annually? YA is looking for a dynamic, mission-driven individual to join our team as a Marketing Associate. This position is a chance to be part of a small team making amazing things happen in schools, and will give you an opportunity to build an impressive and diverse portfolio.
In this vital role, you will maintain the integrity of the YA brand by developing and executing engaging social media content, running effective email marketing campaigns, and providing essential support to the Director of Marketing and PR, all while championing YA’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access (DEIA) and demonstrating that every child deserves the arts.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Digital Marketing (60%)- Maintain YA’s social media presence:
Facebook, Instagram, and Linked In - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to plan and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns for various departments within YA
- Manage content calendar while providing consistent messaging and brand voice across all channels
- Maintain email marketing automation system (Constant Contact) to create and deploy targeted email campaigns
- Collaborate with Director of Marketing and PR to evaluate social media and email marketing analytics to identify areas of improvement
- Ensure marketing is inclusive, and accessible in line with YA Arts United goals and values
- Manage paid Google search and display advertising
- Update website as needed, in collaboration with Director of Marketing and PR
- Occasionally build landing pages
- Upload images and videos to enhance website design
- Work collaboratively with the team on a website redesign
- Contribute to Young Audiences’ ongoing efforts to improve in relation to diversity, equity, inclusion and access, according to YA’s Arts United Plan
- Participate in organization-wide fundraising events and efforts
- Other duties to contribute to YA’s organizational goals as assigned
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in arts or education marketing or in a related role
- Proficiency in social media platforms, email marketing tools and graphic design software (We use Canva most frequently)
- Enthusiasm, creative thinking, and vision for amplifying organizational positioning and messaging
