Role
One of our clients is hiring a Mobile Mechanic to provide hands‑on maintenance and repair services across quarry equipment and mobile machinery. This role requires a highly skilled, self‑motivated professional who can troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems at multiple quarry locations.
About the RoleThe Mobile Mechanic will travel across the quarry site to maintain and repair crushers, conveyors, haul trucks, loaders, and other heavy equipment. The position emphasizes minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance, on‑site diagnostics, and immediate repairs while ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on a variety of quarry and mobile equipment
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems to identify and resolve malfunctions
- Respond to breakdowns and perform on‑site repairs at various locations within the quarry
- Conduct inspections to identify wear, safety hazards, or potential failures and take corrective actions
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts usage
- Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and company safety standards
- Operate diagnostic equipment and tools for precise assessments
- Perform welding and fabrication for structural or component repairs
- Collaborate with maintenance teams and supervisors to prioritize repairs and communicate equipment status
- Promote a culture of safety and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Field of study in Heavy Equipment Maintenance preferred
- 3–5 years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile machinery
- Proficiency in hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems
- Experience with welding, fabrication, and structural repairs
- Knowledge of safety regulations (MSHA, OSHA)
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in outdoor conditions
- Must pass a 7-year criminal background check
- Ability to comply with PPE and respirator safety requirements
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Hands‑on repair and maintenance in a physically demanding environment
- Work on a variety of heavy machinery and mobile equipment
