Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Engineering Manager or designee, responsible for operation and maintenance of WVUH facilities' HVAC control systems and components. Leads trouble‑shooting and repair efforts on commercial grade heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and multi‑zone systems that incorporate pneumatic, electronic, and/or programmable logic controls. Creates drawings or plans for HVAC modifications, and leads the installation of components that require controls programming and linkage to the WVUH central control system(s).
Performs work in the operation, inspection, testing, servicing, and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, and direct digital controls (DDC) for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and related building systems to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operations. Responsible for the coordination of all applicable maintenance and repair work practices, quality standards, policies and procedures to assure maximum efficiency on hospital building systems and equipment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Completion of training beyond high school (i.e., technical school, apprenticeship, trade schools or college)
- Valid Driver's License - must be maintained during employment period.
- Five (5) years of experience installing and/or repairing commercial and/or industrial HVAC systems
- Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) from the International Society of Automation (ISA)
- Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Equipment Certification
- Two (2) years of experience operating, maintaining, and repairing Building Automation Systems.
- BACnet and/or Lon Works protocol experience.
- Experience working with Siemens, Automated Logic, Johnson Controls, Trane, and Reliable control systems
