Job Summary/Basic Function
This position will be involved in a wide variety of maintenance, repair, installation and service activities related to the electrical and mechanical systems of Shepherd University. This position is considered an essential staff position and as such may be required to respond during adverse weather conditions to ensure campus systems are maintained.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have high school diploma or GED.
Valid license for low voltage electricity

Job Duties
Description of Job Duties
Maintains, repairs and replaces the electrical components of air-moving, heating, cooling, humidification and filtering equipment and systems such as fans, heat pumps, fan coil units, rooftop package air conditioning units, humidistat, pressure and volume controls, exhaust fans and so forth.
Maintains and tests fire alarm and emergency lighting systems. Repairs and replaces hot water, condenser and chilled water systems, including pumps, control valves, heat exchangers, cooling towers and related controls. Maintains and repairs fume hood components. Maintains, repairs, and replaces electrical components for low-pressure boilers used for heating and cooling of air and their combustion and control systems. Operates energy management and building automation systems that control heating and cooling systems.
Performs minor installation or modification work on electrical heating systems and controls, including planning the work; estimating and arranging the materials, supplies and equipment required and coordinating with other trades as needed.
Maintains an inventory of replacement parts and supplies to support repair and maintenance of electrical systems.
Maintaining assigned tools, vehicles and equipment.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
