Position: I&E Technician I
Location: Pennsboro

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently install, configure, test, calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, maintain and inspect transmitters, pressure and level controllers.
  • Ensure proper Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and safely isolate and de-energize equipment before performing work.
  • Understand and apply the basic principles of operation of all meters and instruments used in I&E, such as digital multi-meters, pressure calibrators, temperature calibrators like resistance temperature detector (RTD) and thermocouples (TC), RS232, RS485 communications and 475 Hart communicators.
  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics, sketches and specs for I&E installations and maintenance of equipment.
  • Complete and submit all work orders assigned, log and make updates into the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.
  • Follow all Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) policies, procedures and requirements, ensuring personal safety, safety of others and safety of the surrounding area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of relevant instrumentation & electrical or related technical experience.
Core Competencies
  • Basic knowledge of piping and instrument diagrams, signal flow diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, one-line drawings, loop sheets and wire lists.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and use/operation of standard office equipment.
  • Safety minded with utmost concern for the well‑being of others.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external associates.
  • Good troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify, isolate and repair equipment and address issues.
  • Able to be a detail‑oriented self‑starter who can work independently with supervision while completing tasks and achieving goals.
  • Possess good decision‑making skills and problem‑solving abilities to analyze information and identify the best solutions.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
Safety Sensitive Related
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.
  • Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi‑line telephone system.
  • Extreme Cold and Heat: temperatures typically below 32 °F or above 100 °F for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions such as wind, rain, snow, and humidity.
  • Noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • Vibration: exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
  • Confined Space: work areas large enough for an individual to enter and limited means of entry or exit, not designed for continuous occupancy.
  • Hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals, combustibles, explosives, etc.
Hours / Shifts

Alternative shift schedule: 7&7

Physical Demands
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly lift, push, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly be able to bend, stoop, crouch, etc.
  • Frequent traversal through challenging terrain to perform work, evaluate sites and conditions, inspect equipment/assets, etc.
Travel
  • Minimal travel may be required to other locations.
  • Frequent travel to Company’s field operations and/or offices. Approximately 80% of time in field.
