The Foreman holds the critical responsibility of supervising work crews to ensure the timely and safe completion of assigned projects. This role is designated as 'safety-sensitive' because any failure to properly execute the essential or marginal duties could pose a threat to the health and safety of the employee, their colleagues, and the public.
ForemanEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of work crews engaged in erecting structural steel, sheeting, civil work, mechanical, and pipe work.
- Assists workers in performing tasks such as welding, bolting, erecting, assembling, and finishing.
- Prepares performance reviews, warning/counseling reports, and termination reports.
- Responsible for the timely preparation of timesheets and work reports for Office Managers and Field Superintendents.
- Serves as a liaison with clients and vendors to provide project solutions.
- Responsible for adhering to all company safety programs, QA/QC programs, and OSHA regulations.
- Requires the ability to work overtime and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a craftsman required.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Good oral communication skills required.
- All required hand tools must be available.
- Ability to lift in excess of 100 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to climb to heights over 300 feet.
- Must be able to pull body weight when climbing steel bracing, ladders, scaffolding, etc.
- Frequent bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, and pulling are required.
- Must tolerate temperature fluctuations, loud noises, and dusty environments.
- Ability to be around high voltage electromagnetic fields.
This role is classified as safety sensitive. Candidates must demonstrate the capacity to proactively initiate, effectively lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards. Compliance with these requirements is a fundamental condition for employment.
