Job Description:

The Account Manager drives strong client relationships and delivers exceptional service across an assigned book of business. In this role, you’ll respond to client needs, manage data and policy transactions, and uncover new opportunities within existing accounts. You’ll ensure every interaction meets the agency’s high standards for quality, accuracy, and service.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manage an assigned book of business, overseeing sales, marketing, and service activities in line with agency procedures.
  • Provide technical support to Producers by analyzing client needs, coverage options, and proposals.
  • Engage with clients via phone, email, and in-person to address service questions, billing issues, and coverage inquiries.
  • Partner with the Client Relationship Manager to negotiate with carrier underwriters for optimal coverage and pricing.
  • Attend prospect and client meetings alongside Producers as needed.
  • Lead the renewal process—gather quotes, prepare proposals, and deliver policies on time.
  • Prepare renewal applications and documentation for accounts selected for marketing.
  • Process all account transactions accurately and on schedule, including:
    • Policy issuance and endorsements
    • Certificates and
    • Proposals, schedules, and summaries
    • Enrollments, changes, and terminations
    • Audits and corrections
    • Client/carrier communications
    • Coverage analysis and recommendations
  • Manage cancellation requests according to agency standards and notify the Account Executive.
  • Assist clients with claims and appeals; identify coverage gaps and recommend solutions with the Producer.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure accurate, timely workflow.
  • Stay current on industry trends, products, regulations, and technology.
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate across the organization to support agency goals.
  • Continually seek ways to elevate the client experience and share improvement ideas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex insurance concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities, including goal-setting and project management.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams.
  • Solid understanding of insurance products, markets, and underwriting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related tools.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in commercial, employee benefits, or personal lines insurance.
  • Active Life & Health Agent License required.
  • Experience managing large, complex accounts—including international, contractor, and manufacturing clients.
  • In-depth knowledge of ACA and related compliance regulations.
