Retail & Store Manager, Retail Sales
Location: Danville
Retail Parts Pro – a professional level sales position supporting advanced functions within our DIY business. The role requires expert knowledge of store systems, advanced automotive systems, and part expertise. It involves advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers, sourcing parts from multiple locations, and in‑depth knowledge of inventory and maintenance processes. The position is full time.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
- Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives
- Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs
- Maintain high customer service standards and store appearance
- Key holder responsibilities (task assignment, safety, open/close duties)
- Assist in store inventory processes including truck put‑away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back‑stock
- Maintain store cleanliness: floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot
- Provide DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper installs
- Friendly communication
- Ability to locate and stock parts
- Safety knowledge and skills
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment
- Parts and automotive system knowledge
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems
- Expert use of testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services
- ASE P2 certified or ASE‑ready equivalent
- Advanced solution, project, and product quality recommendation ability
- Advanced parts lookup and sourcing
- Advanced selling skills for DIY
Job Skills
- Knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.)
- English speaking and writing;
Spanish a plus - Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals; write simple correspondence
- Understand and execute written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions
- Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment
- Use basic math accurately (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units of measure)
- Use Microsoft Word and Excel effectively
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work a variety of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
- 3‑5 years of prior automotive parts experience
- Proven sales ability with experience in customer transactions
- Valid driver’s license required
- ASE Certification preferred but not required
Typical duties include an extensive amount of moving, which may involve lifting and handling up to 50 lb.
