Summit Camps is recruiting for workforce camp-based positions. We offer an inclusive work environment, competitive wages and a benefits package available following probationary period. Travel is also covered from your designated point of departure.

Primary Role: The Baker-Breakfast Cook position is responsible for serving delicious, fresh baked goods and breakfasts in a remote camp. At higher numbers, this position is split into two roles - Baker and Breakfast Cook. This posting serves for both positions.

Qualifications:

  • Current Food Handlers Certificate
  • Certificate or diploma in baking/pastry is an asset
  • Basic First Aid
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience baking in high volumes preferred (not required for Breakfast Cook only roles)
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test prior to employment and work/live in a drug and alcohol-free camp environment for up to 4 weeks at a time.

  • Must be able to live in a remote camp environment for up to 4 weeks with a 2-week break, working up to 12-hour days. This is a night shift role.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Practice safe work procedures and rectify or report any safety hazards in a timely manner
  • Ensure food safety standards are consistently met and maintained
  • Prepare daily breakfast, including eggs to order per menu plan
  • Prepare daily desserts such as pies, cakes, puddings, etc.
  • Prepare daily bread products such as loaves, rolls, biscuits, scones, etc.
  • Ensure quality, quantity and timing of all baked goods.
  • Clean all pans & utensils used during cooking/preparing process as required
  • Ensure workspace, storage areas & kitchen are clean, organized & sanitized
  • Communicate with Head Cook/Manager regarding camp numbers, quantities & ordering

Starting Wage: $19.75/hour plus overtime (Breakfast), $21.25 plus overtime (Baker). 12-hour work days, rotations are usually 4 weeks on shift and 2 weeks home.
