CVICU Registered Nurse in Grafton, WV

Location: Grafton

A dynamic opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience, specializing in advanced cardiac care. This contract position demands expertise in managing open-heart surgery admissions from the operating room, sophisticated cardiac monitoring, and support devices including ACT (Activated Clotting Time) protocols, Swan-Ganz catheterization, Impella devices, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of CVICU nursing experience with a focus on direct fresh open-heart admissions.
• Proficient in pressure monitoring and advanced cardiac surgical care.
• Demonstrated expertise with Swan-Ganz catheter management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BCLS essential.
• Strong clinical judgment with a patient acuity ratio of approximately 1:2.
• Ability to work night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week, including weekends and weekdays.

Responsibilities:

• Provide critical care nursing for postoperative cardiac surgery patients.
• Collaborate closely with surgical teams and critical care staff to monitor and manage complex cardiac patients.
• Implement and maintain ACT protocols with precision.
• Administer advanced hemodynamic monitoring and device management.
• Document care accurately in Cerner electronic medical records.

Schedule:

• Night shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week.

Contract Details:

• Length: 13 weeks with possible extension.
• Immediate start preferred.
• Blocked schedules considered only for weekend availability.
