Registered Nurse (RN) – Borland Groover
Position Title:
Registered Nurse (RN) in Florida’s leading gastroenterology practice, established in 1947. Our mission is to provide exceptional care and improve the lives of our patients while fostering accountability, compassion, and collaboration.
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating nursing care, including direct and indirect patient care, patient/family education, and transition of care. The RN will assess, observe, manage, and document care as part of the nursing process to achieve individualized patient outcomes, and will collaborate with providers to maximize patient flow in a fast‑paced gastroenterology setting.
Essential Job Functions- Efficiently room patients, record vital signs, patient history, medication reconciliation, and allergies.
- Drive customer service initiatives and own the patient experience.
- Pre‑check charts, ensuring all results and records are present for review.
- Assist the provider with physical examinations as needed.
- Participate in patient treatment regimens, including administering medications under physicians’ orders.
- Perform office duties such as answering phones, taking messages, and triaging within the scope of nursing practice.
- Review medication and diet instructions with patients.
- Send referrals to other physicians (e.g., surgeons, hematology, oncology).
- Review patient education materials and coordinate HIPAA‑compliant care prior to implementation.
- Administer and document vaccines per provider orders.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records.
- Process prescription refills and authorizations under provider direction.
- Cover other nurses as needed, including possible travel to other offices.
- Send physician procedures and hospital lists to the coding/hospital desk.
- Check charts at the end of the day and ensure completion, scheduling, and signing off.
- Practice universal precautions.
- Adhere to HIPAA training and compliance.
- Participate in training and compliance initiatives as needed.
- Process PAQ/clinical tasks directed by the provider.
- Place recalls at the provider’s discretion.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Office Management, Office Manager, and Clinical Lead.
- Provide and educate patients on direct‑access procedures (DAP) and recall procedures.
- Stock and clean exam rooms.
- Follow the organization’s Code of Conduct.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Communication: Active listening, clear verbal and written communication, and maintaining open lines with providers, patients, and managers.
- Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Handle complex situations calmly, develop creative solutions, and anticipate patient needs.

- Time Management: Plan duties, use technology efficiently, and prioritize tasks to meet timelines.
- Collaboration: Build trust and communicate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
- Strong customer service skills with patients and internal departments.
- Maintain confidentiality and communicate in person, by phone, or in writing.
- Work independently and in a team environment.
- Competency in Microsoft Office, EMR, and other medical software.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and staff verbally and in writing.
- Manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Handle patient issues tactfully and professionally.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficient in English.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required; Bachelor of Nursing preferred).
- Active Registered Nursing license in the State of Florida.
- Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN) credential preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtainable within 90 days.
- One year of RN experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.
