Minimum Qualifications- Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi‑state RN license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- Possess current temporary RN permit as required by the state board where services will be provided.
- Documentation of recent graduation from School of Nursing.
- Must obtain permanent RN license within 90 days of graduation in MD.
- OH:
No temporary permit issued. Ohio Nurses must be currently licensed. - PA:
Current PA Registered Nurse Temporary Permit. Must obtain permanent licensure within one (1) year of graduation. - WV:
Current WV Registered Nurse Grad Permit. Must obtain permanent licensure within 180 days of graduation. - Temporary permits are valid only within the state of issuance; they are not multi‑state licenses.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
- Associate of Science in Nursing Degree (ASN) or Diploma, currently enrolled in a BSN program and BSN completed within 5 years of hire.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Provide direct patient care within the ambulatory setting, based on the nursing process and within role/scope of practice.
- Perform preliminary assessment of patients through observation and chart review to facilitate appropriate follow‑up with health care team.
- Evaluate unstable or complex patient care situations and facilitate appropriate intervention.
- Implement appropriate clinical decisions and demonstrate appropriate use of expert peers and/or management.
- Accept accountability and use independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by health care providers to who care is delegated.
- Demonstrate the appropriate use of standards, effective use of resources, and evaluation of patient response in the delivery of patient care.
- Use standards of care and standards of practice to guide care delivery.
- Base decisions made/actions taken on relevant scientific principles, established standards of care and/or research findings. Seek assistance/credible resource when unable to perform safely and independently.
- Determine/revise priorities for direct/indirect patient care activities based on patient acuity and available resources; update daily care plan to include appropriate algorithms for safe patient handling.
- Use established patient care support systems including documentation, communication, & information.
- Responsible for educational instruction to patients and families with health care needs.
- Identify teaching/learning needs of patient.
- Evaluate effectiveness of patient and family teaching and make documentation in patient charts.
- Assist in orientation of new employees according to unit orientation plan.
- Apply information gained from educational experiences when providing patient care and instruction.
- Assume responsibility for the development of others.
- Engage in mentoring and networking activities to promote professional development.
- Foster the integration of staff and/or students into the health care team. Facilitate incorporation of the unit's mission, values, and vision.
- Demonstrate skill in the management of conflict situations.
- Functions to promote trusting relationships and open, honest communication at the unit level.
- Engage in exchange of information relevant to specific patient assignment.
- Interact with various members of the health care team to meet patient care needs.
- Participate in Performance Improvement activities as appropriate.
- Minimize the need for employees to manually lift patients; limit safe patient handling to 35 pounds.
- Heavy/Hard work: requires strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying of materials and equipment weighing 40+ lbs.

- Working around infectious diseases.
- Working with hands in water.
