Licensed Practical Nurse – Med/Surg – Full‑Time Sign On

Rivers Health is seeking a full‑time LPN to perform nursing services on our Med/Surg Unit. Works under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse rendering nursing care including medications and treatments to patients in a timely manner.

• Provides direct patient care.
• Administers medications (PO, IM, IV PB) safely and accurately, with timely documentation.
• Safeguards medications and narcotics.
• Starts and assists with the maintenance of IV lines.
• Accurately documents care.
• Assists patient education in collaboration with other disciplines.
• Assists with unit cleanliness, admission and discharge assessments.
• Respects patient privacy, rights and values, providing care accordingly.
• Holds responsibility for care of assigned patients per the RN’s care plan.
• Reports observations and pertinent information to the registered nurse.
• Works closely and harmoniously with the RN.
• Assists in orienting new employees.
• Administers nursing care safely and promptly according to hospital policies, procedures and philosophy.
• Completes all annual competencies.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned.
• Complies with Corporate Policies, Departmental Policies, and the Personnel Employee Handbook.
• Cross‑trains to other units as required.
• Demonstrates excellence in customer‑service skills.
• Fosters teamwork and collaboration; attends unit meetings.
• Participates in quality‑improvement activities, including serving on improvement teams.
