Locums Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking a Board-Certified Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care in a locum tenens capacity in Salem, VA. The provider will work closely with the Cardiac and Cardiothoracic Surgery teams to manage inpatient, outpatient, and procedural care.

• Provide 24/7 patient coverage, including call responsibilities.
• See patients in the cardiology clinic and round on inpatients.
• Assist in the CVOR with the CT surgeon, including vein harvesting and functioning as a First Assist during procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
• Document patient encounters accurately and maintain compliance with EMR (eCW).

Patient Volume: Approximately 25 patients per day

• Board Certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Active state licensure in Virginia.
• BCLS and ACLS certification required.
• Experience in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, or critical care preferred.
• Ability to function in the operating room as a First Assist, including vein harvesting.
