Licensed Practical Nurse-Med/Surg-Full-Time Sign On

Rivers Health is seeking a full‑time LPN to perform nursing services on our Med/Surg Unit. This role works under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, rendering nursing care including medications and treatments to patients in a timely manner.

• Provides direct patient care.
• Administers medications including PO, IM, and IV PB safely and in a timely manner, accurately documenting administration.
• Safeguards medications and narcotics.
• Starts and assists with IV maintenance.
• Accurately documents care.
• Assists with patient education in collaboration with other disciplines.
• Assists with unit cleanliness.
• Assists with admission and discharge assessments.
• Respects patient privacy, rights, and the values of individuals and provides care accordingly.
• Takes responsibility for providing care for assigned patients according to care plans provided by the registered nurse under direct supervision.
• Reports observations and pertinent information to registered nurse.
• Works closely and harmoniously with registered nurse.
• Assists in orienting new employees.
• Administers nursing care in a safe and timely manner according to hospital policies, procedures and philosophy.
• Completes all annual competencies.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned.
• Complies with Corporate Policies, Departmental Policies and procedures and the Personnel Employee Handbook.
• Cross‑trains to other units.
• Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills.
• Fosters teamwork and collaboration; attends unit meetings.
• Participates in quality improvement activities, including serving on quality improvement teams.
