Rivers Health is seeking a temporary RN for our General Surgery Office. The RN will perform nursing duties, assess patients, document care, and support physicians in the office setting.

• Perform general nursing duties and assess patients’ general condition, taking vital signs and reviewing histories.
• Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
• Document all activities, interventions, and medications in the patient record.
• Obtain pre-certifications, pre-authorizations, and referrals from insurance companies.
• Provide patient education materials and communicate physician advice to patients.
• Monitor critical lab values and promptly seek physician orders.
• Schedule outside referrals and assist with medical procedures.
• Answer telephone calls, triage patient care issues, and schedule office visits or hospital tests.
• Send prescriptions to pharmacy and call patients with test results.
• Assist physicians in patient treatment and care within the office.
• Maintain exam rooms and other patient areas for patient examinations.
• Ensure safety, infection control, and adherence to office policies and procedures.
• Perform routine office laboratory procedures and maintain necessary equipment and supplies.
• Adhere to Corporate Policies, JCAHO, Rural Health, Departmental Policies, and the Personnel Employee Handbook.
• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a positive image of the physician practice.
• Follow standards of conduct and procedures of the hospital and applicable laws and regulations; report violations through the appropriate chain of command.
• Treat patients, physicians, and coworkers with courtesy and respect.
• Identify customer expectations and work to meet and exceed them.
• Maintain a high degree of ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Assume other duties as necessary to support the efforts of the hospital.
• Fill in during co-workers' absences and cover other nursing personnel when they are unavailable.
• Complete the full range of nursing duties as assigned.
