Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A professional nursing opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical and Oncology care. This contract position is based in Wellsburg, WV, providing care primarily on a 52-bed Med Surg unit with all private rooms.
Key Qualifications and

Experience:

* Current RN license with experience in Medical-Surgical nursing;
Oncology experience is a plus.

* Valid BLS certification is required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required.

* ACLS certification is an advantage but not mandatory.

* Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably Sunrise.

* Comfortable working with patient ratios of 1:6-7 and collaborating with nurse aides.

* Experience in managing post-operative orthopedic and general post-op patients, including those with neuro procedures and common medical diagnoses.

* Preferred experience with peritoneal dialysis.

Schedule and Responsibilities:

* 12-hour shifts: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

* Every other weekend and holiday rotation as needed.

* Support includes a Clinical Assistant for half the shift duration and multiple CNAs per shift.

* Responsible for patient care, medication administration including drips (heparin, MSO4 PCA, others), and working with respiratory therapy and IV teams.

* Nurses do not routinely read telemetry strips but may do so if experienced.

* Orientation includes general hospital and unit-specific training.

Work Environment and Tools:

* Strict uniform policy: navy blue scrubs and jackets for RNs.

* Access to in-house hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and IV teams 24/7.

* Use of Pyxis for medication management.
