- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state or region.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in cardiology or critical care settings.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and common cardiac pathologies.
- Certification in Cardiac Vascular Nursing (RN-BC) or equivalent specialty certification.
- Experience with cardiac monitoring technologies and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Previous work experience in a high-acuity cardiology unit or cardiac catheterization lab.
- Advanced training in patient education and counseling related to chronic disease management.
- Participation in professional cardiology nursing organizations or continuing education programs.
- Perform thorough cardiovascular assessments and monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic status.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately while observing for adverse reactions.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare team members to develop and update patient care plans.
- Provide patient and family education on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies.
- Respond promptly to cardiac emergencies, including initiating life-saving interventions and advanced cardiac life support protocols.
- Document all nursing care, patient responses, and clinical observations in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain up-to-date knowledge of cardiology nursing best practices.
