Graduate Nurse – Summer 2026 Graduation – ICU/SDU

Reynolds Memorial Hospital is seeking a Graduate Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care in the ICU/SDU. This role has full shift accountability and will manage patient care from admission through discharge under the nursing process.

• Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state RN license through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• Less than 12 months of experience as a registered nurse.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN).

• Demonstrates safety and continuity of care using documentation, handoff tools/processes, etc.
• Creates care plan using nursing process: assessment, diagnoses, intervention, and evaluation of outcomes.
• Recognizes patient safety concerns through appropriate resources.
• Provides education based on unique learning needs of patient.
• Incorporates patient individuality and mutuality data in delivery of care.
• Performs adequate patient assessment and documentation.
• Uses teach‑back method to evaluate effectiveness of education.
• Utilizes Evidence‑Based Practice (EBP) in nursing care.
• Participates in organizational patient‑centered care model.
• Documents problems and issues in the plan of care.
• Demonstrates increasing ability to care for more complex patients utilizing consultation with experienced colleagues.
• Demonstrates commitment to lifelong learning through self‑reflection and inquiry for learning and personal growth.
• Retains accountability for delegated nursing care.
• Recognizes scope of practice for all interprofessional team members.
• Participates in holistic, culturally sensitive data collection.
• Assesses the impact of family dynamics on healthcare consumer health and wellness.
• Integrates ANA's code of ethics to guide nursing practice.
• Identifies discriminatory healthcare practices in culturally diverse populations.
• Individualizes care based on beliefs, barriers, and readiness to learn of patients.

• Limit manual patient lifting to 35 pounds; use lift equipment as needed.
• Work requires strength and stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, carrying materials up 40+ lbs.
• Visual acuity within normal range.
• Hearing within normal range (to assess breath sounds, bowel sounds, apical pulse, monitors).

• Protracted or irregular hours.
• Exposure to biohazards, infectious diseases, deceased, water, and electrical hazards associated with patient care equipment.

• Interpersonal skills to communicate, negotiate, and resolve conflict.
• Competent clinical practice and critical thinking skills to efficiently deliver patient care with all healthcare providers, maximizing resource use.
• Flexibility in response to changes in work volume, staffing, and scheduling.
• Ability to work successfully under highly stressful conditions and adapt to varying workloads and assignments.

• Level 1 – No experience required; all graduate nurses under 12 months enter at Level 1 with diploma, ADN, BSN, or higher.
• Level 2 – Meets Level 1 requirements; one year of experience.
• Level 3 – Meets Level 2 requirements; two years experience plus one specialty certification (preferred).
• Level 4 – BSN or higher (or ADN/diploma with 5 years); one specialty certification required.
• Level 5 – MSN or higher with 4 years; or BSN with 4 years + health‑related master’s; or BSN with 5 years.
• Level 6 – MSN or higher with 7+ years; or other health‑related advanced degrees.
