Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking candidates for the position of PLTCM Operator to support the Cold Mill and drive safety, profitability, and operational innovation. The role requires ownership, communication, and teamwork. Specific responsibilities include:

• Lead efforts to continually improve safety, profitability, and operational innovation on the pickle line and related processes.
• Engage in the pickle line process including trimming, coating, and inspecting the steel, and manage the systems associated with these tasks.
• Perform surface inspection and manage quality defects.
• Support areas of the pickle line process and ensure effective collaboration with team members.

About the facility
:
Nucor Steel West Virginia is a new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities. This greenfield project is estimated to be fully operational in 2028 and will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at a leading steel mill.

This advanced manufacturing facility is located along the Ohio River near Huntington and Charleston, WV. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Compensation
:
Salary $-$ (compensation varies based on experience and includes a full compensation package with a variable incentive during the construction phase).

• One year of experience on a pickle line or cold mill

• Experience in steel surface and quality inspection including defect identification
• Experience in pickle lines, tandem cold rolling, reversing cold rolling/tempering, annealing, roll shops
• Experience with micrometers and tape measures
• Experience with crane operations
• Experience with mobile equipment
• Basic understanding of how automation works (sensors, sequences, control loops)
• Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Basic understanding of mechanical troubleshooting (pumps, valves, cylinders)
