THE ROLE
This position is responsible for supervising shift maintenance activities, installing and assembling new machinery, and managing a preventative maintenance program to inspect, service, and test quarry equipment. Typical working hours are between 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM, with flexibility based on operational needs.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance mechanics during shift operations to ensure safe and efficient equipment performance.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair quarry equipment including crushers, conveyors, heavy machinery, and hydraulic systems.
- Oversee and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections to proactively identify potential failures.
- Respond to urgent breakdowns and coordinate emergency repairs to reduce production disruptions.
- Ensure full compliance with safety regulations and maintenance best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, parts inventory, and equipment condition.
- Monitor spare parts and tool inventory to ensure operational readiness.
- Collaborate with quarry management to prioritize maintenance schedules aligned with production goals.
- Train, mentor, and develop junior mechanics to enhance team capability and performance.
- Promote a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Technical degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field (Preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience
- Strong background in maintaining and repairing heavy quarry equipment (crushers, conveyors, haul trucks, hydraulic systems)
- Proven experience leading and supervising maintenance teams
- Advanced troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards)
- Experience managing preventive maintenance programs
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills
- Effective communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to manage emergency mechanical failures efficiently
- Must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators. Employees required to wear respirators must be clean‑shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass qualitative and quantitative fit testing in accordance with applicable regulations.
