Nucor Steel West Virginia’s greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This facility will be located in Mason County, along the Ohio River near Huntington and Charleston, WV.
PositionCrane Electrical Maintenance
Responsibilities- Safely perform preventative and corrective maintenance on steel mill equipment and systems.
- During construction, assist in building the mill and creating the computerized maintenance management system to ensure proper design criteria and equipment reliability.
- Propose and implement innovative solutions to challenges in the steel making process with a focus on safety, reliability, quality, costs, and project management.
- Perform electrical and electronic troubleshooting and periodic maintenance on equipment.
- Understand mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Demonstrate knowledge of high and low voltage electrical systems, programmable logic controllers, instrumentation, AC/DC variable frequency drives, motors, and control systems.
- Train teammates on new equipment and modifications to existing equipment.
- Work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and overtime as needed.
Pay: $ to $. Range varies based on experience and includes a full compensation package with a variable incentive during construction and potential annual profit-sharing bonus. Applicants starting below the top of the salary range can progress to maximum pay through the company’s training and development program.

Minimum Qualifications- Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Fundamental Electrical Theory knowledge.
- Experience troubleshooting 480V motors and controls.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and overtime.
- Prior steel mill experience.
- 2-year or 4-year degree in electrical or related field.
- Experience with Magnetek or equivalent.
