Environmental Services Manager / Maintenance ManagerWe have an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on ESM/Maintenance Manager to join our team at Retirement Suites by the Lake. In this role, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of our maintenance and environmental services with a professional resident‑first mindset.
Key Responsibilities- Fix and repair resident requests and regular house needs.
- Maintain competency in all building systems including fan coil units, cooling systems, preventive maintenance systems, plumbing, and general maintenance.
- Knowledge of building codes, fire regulations, HVAC and refrigeration systems (optional experience with pool/spa maintenance).
- Manage budgeting and inventory control.
- Hire, train, evaluate performance, and schedule employees.
- Ensure resident requests are resolved promptly and vacant suites are prepared for new residents without delay.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and written, in English.
- Interact with residents, their families, and coworkers in a kind and caring manner.
- Be available for rotational weekend manager duty and on call for emergencies 24/7.
- Perform quality control and building inspections for ongoing site improvement.
- Operate software such as Word, e‑mail, and a building services management system (e.g., TELS).
9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, with weekends and emergencies as needed. Every 7th weekend on manager duty rotation.

- Previous building services management experience.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and a valid driver’s license.

- Positive, professional demeanor and hands‑on leadership.
- Patience and empathy for working with older adults.
