- Applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Successfully pass or have passed the WVthe WV State Competency Exam for Custodian Classification.
- Proficient skills related to custodial duties.
- Agree to participate in scheduled job shadowing training asit pertains to current job classification.
- Custodial work experience preferred.
Building Principal and Director of Student Support Services
ResponsibilitiesSubstitute should exhibit professional behavior by showing positive examples of preparedness, communication, fairness, punctuality, attendance, language and appearance. Substitute must contribute, cooperate, and participate in creating an environment in which all employees/students are accepted and are provided an opportunity to achieve at the highest levels in all areas of development. Maintain a safe and healthy environment freefrom harassment, intimidation, bullying, abuse, violence and free from discrimination.
Assist maintaining a culture of caring through understanding and support. Comply with all Federal, State of West Virginia and Doddridge County Schools laws, policies and procedures.

- Perform cleaning of the building and grounds according to schedule designed by principal.
- Dust desks and shelves.
- Mop hallways, entrances, and bathrooms.
- Clean bathroom fixtures and water fountains.
- Keep grounds free of trash.
- Keep walks and exit doors free of snow and ice.
- Spills and other emergencies must be attended to promptly.
- Cleaning, stripping and waxing of floors to be done according to schedule designed by principal.
- Keep supply rooms clean and free of refuse.
- Windows shall be cleaning inside and out at beginning of school and maintained throughout school year.
- Toilets
- Toilets/Restrooms:
All wash basins, commodes, flush bowls, urinals and partitions shall be cleaned at least once each school day with a disinfectant diluted in water. - A sufficient supply of toilet tissue must be kept in each toilet room and a supply of paper towels near wash basins.
- Special attention must be given to all plumbing and leaks shall be promptly repaired or reported.
- Drinking foundations are to be kept clean.
- Hallways and stairs are not to be used as storage areas and must be kept free of obstacles at all times.
- Dispose of refuse properly.
- Trash cans must be emptied daily.
- Trash cans must be washed as needed.
- Refuse is to be stored in appropriate place.
- Operate energy system.
- Institute practices to conserve energy.
- Adjust heat to keep building at appropriate temperature.
