Location: Kearneysville
GCyber is seeking a Network Administrator, to support our U.S. Coast Guard customer. The Network Administrator will be a key member of the Information Technology Operations Center and will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing network systems to support continuous operations and mission-critical activities. This position is a Front End Nights shift position, working 6:45pm - 7:00am, Sunday-Tuesday with rotating Wednesdays.
This position is on site in Kearneysville, WV. As a Network Administrator, you will:
* Configure and manage a variety of network devices, including routers and switches.
* Utilize advanced network monitoring and analysis tools such as Wireshark and Solar Winds to proactively monitor performance, identify potential issues, and ensure rapid resolution.
* Implement and enforce stringent network security protocols and industry best practices to protect sensitive data and systems.
* Conduct in depth troubleshooting for complex network issues related to TCP/IP protocols, VLAN management, and routing/switching protocols (BGP, OSPF).
* Collaborate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of network services and overall operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications and
Experience:
* Active DoD Secret clearance
* IAT II certification (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CCNA-Security, CND, GICSP, GSEC, and SSCP)
* Proficiency configuring and managing network devices such as routers and switches.
* Strong foundational understanding of TCP/IP, VLAN management, and essential routing/switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
* Hands-on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark and Solar Winds.
* Solid understanding of network security protocols and best practices.
* Ability to succeed in demanding 24/7 operational environment, including availability for shift work.
* Additional networking certification preferred (Network+, CCNA, or CCNP)
* Experience maintaining enterprise networks and datacenter environments preferred.
