Location:
Greenbrier Valley Medical Center – 1320 Maplewood Avenue, Ronceverte, West Virginia 24970.
Schedule:
Full time;
Days may vary, 5:30 am to 7:30 pm.
Requirement:
Two years of prior dietary aide, diet technician, or CNA experience preferred; willing to train.
Pay Range: $12.00–$14.00 per hour.
Job Summary:
Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility and provide services that include helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering, and picking up their meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction goals by ensuring meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature.
- Help patients understand menu selections and work with nursing staff to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
- Work with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with allergies, sensitivities, cultural or religious preferences.
- Manage tray tickets and assemble meals accurately and timely; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
- Comply with regulator agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO; adhere to HIPAA policies.
- Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
- Follow facility and department infection control policies.
- Assist dietitians with monitoring patients on specialized diets.
- Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel promptly.
- Complete all daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
- Basic computer and mathematical skills.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food delivery carts.
