Job Statement/Summary
The Patient Service Representative supports the delivery of patient care by greeting and registering patients and answering incoming phone calls.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION- Answers a multiline switchboard and properly distributes calls, takes messages or handles the call appropriately by identifying needs, resolving matters, or making referrals.
- Registers patients.
- Greets members of the public when they enter buildings and assist them in addressing their needs.
- Coordinates activities in the front desk area with other employees to ensure a smooth operation.
- Coordinates the building’s communications such as the use of the intercom system and transfers.
- Assists in checking appointments.
- Accepts cash payments from clients and writes receipts.
- Performs routine data entry.
- Helps to ensure that the safety, health, and wellbeing of clients while they are in the lobby area.
- Submits documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Supports the training of new employees in the department.
- Performs functions they are cross-trained on, including medical records, intakes, and scheduling.
- Acts as a float, traveling from site to site to help with coverage when needed.
- Operates normal office equipment such as computers, fax machines, and copiers.

Candidates will have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and one year of experience as a receptionist or related position in an office environment.
