Grant Rapid Care is seeking a full‑time Advanced Practice Provider to join our team in Keyser, WV. The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) possesses coordination and clinical skills required for comprehensive management of emergency medicine patients, including biological, social, and psychological assessments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate involvement of medical/surgical specialty teams and develop a comprehensive care plan.
- Review the plan of care with clinical team, participate in directing care, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and coordinate discharge planning.
- Educate residents, medical and nursing students, and other staff.
- Provide healthcare services consistent with state law and licensing requirements.
Required certifications:
- National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure by the WV Board of Medicine or WV Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
- American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications.
Experience:
- Acute care or emergency medicine experience preferred.
- Eligible new graduates will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters level education in Medical/Surgical PA preferred.
- American Heart Association PALS certification encouraged.
- Manage comprehensive, individualized care for emergency medicine patients and their families.
- Complete pre‑procedure evaluations and integrated assessments.
- Order additional tests or consults as deemed appropriate.
- Perform diagnostic tests and communicate results following established guidelines.
- Consult with DEM clinic and hospital staff regarding abnormal findings.
- Facilitate patient discharge by coordinating appropriate services and tests.
- Develop individualized care plans including teaching, discharge planning, and necessary referrals.
- Identify unstable or complex emergency situations and facilitate appropriate interventions.
- Recognize emergency situations and initiate effective emergency care.
- Assist in collection of outcome measures and support clinical trials.
- Provide leadership in developing and implementing changes in practice that positively impact outcomes.
- Document plans, interventions, and evaluations clearly in the medical record.
- Collaborate with other leaders to achieve patient outcome improvement.
- Participate in community programs and execute educational programs.
- Participate and provide leadership for committees and task forces.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to lift, move, stoop, reach, and carry patients, materials, and equipment weighing 40+ pounds.
- Work closely with others.
- Protracted or irregular hours.
- Experience biohazards, infectious diseases, deceased patients, water exposure, and electrical hazards.
- Proficiency with computers.
- Strong communication skills.
