The Therapist will work as a member of an Interdisciplinary Treatment Team within a Primary Care Setting. The therapist will provide brief intervention services as well as ongoing therapy services to individuals with a variety of behavioral health concerns including substance use disorder counseling.
Minimum Qualifications- Licensed Independent Social Worker (LICSW) or Doctorate in Psychology or Social Work preferred.
- Licensed Graduate Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker will be considered. Supervision is available and must meet all requirements for and site for the LICSW exam after 2 years or less.
- Once LICSW licensure is received position will become Exempt.
- WV License within their respective profession.
- A minimum of one year clinical experience is preferred.
- Ability to function as an integrated care team member.
- Ability to utilize technology for completion of daily work tasks.
- Offer brief, targeted interventions usually lasting less than 60 minutes.
- Provide short-term counseling, often lasting less than eight visits; skill in targeted, brief psychotherapy.
- Function well in a team approach; acts as a contributing member to the primary care team.
- Effectively communicate and interact with primary care providers and assists the primary care provider in recognizing, treating and managing mental health and psychosocial issues.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the identification and treatment of mental disorders and psychosocial problems.
- Demonstrate ability to think in terms of population-based care, addressing a large clientele in the most efficient ways possible.
- Completion of evidence-based behavioral assessments and interventions relevant to medical conditions, e.g., disease management; treatment adherence; and lifestyle change.
- Must be able to make quick and accurate clinical assessments.
- Must demonstrate ability to document services in a way that is useful both to the primary care provider and to management for quality improvement services.
- Identification of “at risk” clients, with the aim of preventing further psychological or physical deterioration.
- Demonstrate efficient and effective treatment and management of clients with chronic emotional and/or health problems.
- Gives primary care providers timely feedback including treatment recommendations and progress.
- Documentation is made in the client’s behavioral health record.
- Demonstrates ability to establish rapport quickly with a wide range of people.
