Housekeeping Supervisor

• Three (3) years of housekeeping experience with one (1) year previous supervisory duties.

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Assigns and coordinates the department workflow and inspects work to ensure that standards are met.
• Schedules staff shifts, may perform housekeeping duties in instance of staff shortage
• Investigates and addresses complaints regarding poor housekeeping service.
• Provides training to the housekeeping staff and maintain staffing levels within budget.
• Regularly takes inventory of cleaning supplies and ordering stock as needed.
• Suggets ways to increase productivity through the use of labor saving equipment or supplies.
• Assists in personnel matters within department.

For facilities with specialty accreditation requirements:

• Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.

• Must have physical ability to perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, reaching and bending and operating floor equipment such as vacuum cleaners, autoscrubbers, buffers, etc.
• Must meet Department of Labor's Heavy Duty Standard.
• Capable of wearing appropriate PPE for an extended period of time

• Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids and different types of cleaning chemicals.

• Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the hospital.
• Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests.
• Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of assigned areas, necessary supplies and equipment
• Must be able to read and follow written work assignments.
