PET and CT Technologist Role at RAYUS Radiology
RAYUS Radiology is looking for a PET/CT Technologist to join our team. We challenge the status quo by shining light on radiology, making it a critical first step in diagnosis and treatment. As a Positron Emission Tomography–Computed Tomography (PET/CT) Technologist, you will operate assigned scanners to produce diagnostic images, provide excellent patient‑centered care, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
This is a PRN position working various hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Patient PET/CT Imaging (90%)- Screens the patient before exam for precautions or contradictions, using two identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
- Explains and prepares patients for PET/CT imaging procedures, positioning them appropriately.
- Performs routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures with minimal supervision, supporting patients throughout the process.
- Adjusts scan parameters and uses dose‑reduction techniques as needed.
- Maintains positive relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and peers.
- Follows physician orders precisely, conforming to safety regulations.
- Accurately maintains patient records in the Radiology Information System.
- Maintains an orderly, clean work area promoting safety for patients and coworkers.
- Maintains the ACR toolkit, accreditation requirements, and equipment in good working order.
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Assesses, prepares, records, and administers radio‑pharmaceuticals per NRC or state regulations and departmental policies.
- Administers fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) intravenously to patients.
- Demonstrates knowledge of safety‑related behaviors to maintain a safe work environment.
- Reports contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer.
- Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
- Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as needed.
- Assists with training new associates, providing technical resources.
- Performs and records daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality‑control procedures to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA guidelines.
- Performs daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards and NRC or state regulations.
