Join to apply for the JGH Part Time Registration Clerk role at WVU Medicine Jackson General Hospital.
Responsible for day-to-day scheduling, monitoring workflow in patient registration, processing payments and billing accounts, and overseeing patient record releases. Acts as a resource for staff to address operational issues and assists customers who need assistance.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Office Certification.
- Insurance experience.
- Proficient use of data entry and accurate abstraction of data.
- Review work for accuracy.
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure medical record and scheduling accuracy.
- Collect and post payments accurately and balance accounts at the end of the shift.
- Release medical records and protected health information in accordance with protocols and HIPAA.
- Communicate with patients and clinic staff to ensure proper paperwork is available for office visits.
- Monitor use of hospital resources and assist with ensuring supplies are available.
- Ensure excellence of service in all clinics assigned.
- Use software programs required for registration and processing medical record requests.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Normal office setting.
- Typing speed of 40 words per minute verified by testing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Team‑building skills.
- Highly developed social and communication skills.
- Excellent judgment and the ability to stay calm and level‑headed in difficult situations.
- Ability to multi‑task.
