Job Description - Surgical Technician/OR 1st Assist, flex (1611153)
Logan Regional Medical Center
Under the supervision of the Surgical Services Nurse Manager or the Charge Nurse, the Surgical Technician performs various duties in the care and provision of sterile instruments, supplies and equipment for operative procedures in accordance with established procedures and policies of the department and hospital.
Qualifications- Must possess reading, writing, and mathematical skills, and the ability to receive and transmit information normally acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program, an LPN (experience preferred), or intensive on-the-job training is required.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon during surgical procedures.
- Interpersonal communication skills are necessary in order to maintain effective working relationships with surgeons, coworkers, and vendors.
