Cosmetologist

SUMMARY

Provide various beauty services to customers such as hair styling, manicures, and pedicures.

• Prepares hair for styling by analyzing hair condition, shampooing and treating hair
• Conditions hair and scalp by applying treatments
• Plans desired effect by studying facial features; examining potential styles; conferring with customer and making recommendations.
• Produces desired effect by arranging, shaping, and curling, cutting, trimming, setting, dyeing, and tinting hair.
• Shaping eyebrows and removing or trimming unwanted hair from the face
• Ability to trim beards and mustaches
• Upsell treatments and other products, when appropriate
• Excellent customer service skills, listening , and communication skills
• Build and maintain relationships with clients to encourage repeat appointments
• Comply with state guidelines as well as SOP for all services and protocols
• Inform reception desk of extra charges.
• Using equipment, such as scissors, clippers, curlers, straighteners, and dryers
• Report any supplies that need reordering to the Manager
• Clean and stock work station at end of shift
• Actively participate in training program and perform all services accordingly
• Other duties as assigned.

You will report directly to the Manager of Retail Operations then to the Director of Resort Operations.

• Knowledge of cosmetology trends
• Strong creative ability and attention to detail
• Must have excellent communication skills, be polite, and present a neat appearance at all times.
• Must exhibit a friendly and outgoing disposition at all times.
• The ability to work in a fast –paced environment and stressful situations.
• The ability to work with others as a team in an efficient manner.
• You will need to be available to work all shifts.
• Minimum of one year experience in a day spa or salon
• You must be at least 21 years old.
• You also must be able to pass a background investigation, obtain and maintain a WV Racing License and West Virginia Cosmetologist License.

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

West Virginia Cosmetologist License is required

You will need to be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. The ability to push, pull, kneel, twist, carry and lift up to 25 lbs.

Will be exposed to working in a noisy, smoke/secondary smoke environment.
