Position Summary
Under administrative direction, performs administrative and professional accounting work in directing the financial, accounting, purchasing, payroll, employee benefits, inmate trustee accounting, fixed asset, GAAP reporting activities, P-Card, budget requests, and expenditure schedules. Responsibility includes the management of all fiscal-related responsibilities and other business-related activities for the assigned institution. The position has wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgement. All activities and processes must be in accordance with established policies and procedures as well as rules and regulations of the agency, State Auditor's Office, State Department of Administrative, IRS, Legislative Auditor's Department of Administration, and any other entity as applicable.
The individual is involved in the hiring and employee performance reviews of all units. Supervision is exercised over a professional accounting and clerical team as required.
$46,194.00
Pay Adjustments- $5,000 will be added to the minimum starting rate of pay for all classifications within a Critical Vacancy Pay Supplemental Facility (CVPF) effective 10/7/23.
- Employees in this classification shall receive an annual base building pay differential each fiscal year of $250 after completing one year of service.
- If an employee is hired into a CVPF and leaves the facility, the additional pay differential of $5,000 shall be removed from their salary, unless transferring to another CVPF.
Vacancy 1:
Fayette, Clay, Nicholas and Kanawha Counties
Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, finance, economics, accounting or mathematics including at least six hours in accounting.
Substitution: Experience as described below may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in accounting, auditing, financial management or advanced level banking, including two years in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
