Assistant Site Engineer

Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry, who have been awarded a programme of work to deliver non-infrastructure projects for Severn Trent Water.

They are looking to recruit an Assistant Site Engineer based on a large project near Melton Mowbray where you will be providing setting out and quality control services to ensure that the contract works are constructed to the specification.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with CDM Regulations and compliance with the Company safe working practices.
• Assist in the preparation of construction programmes, preparation of Method Statements, Action Plans and Risk Assessments.
• Setting out the works.
• Checking site work to ensure compliance with the specification and drawings.
• Agreement of site measurements and records with the client’s staff.
• Assist in maintaining drawing files, drawing register and site filling system.
• Liaise with the design department to ensure updated information is always used.
• Taking off quantities from drawings for measurement purposes and to assist in the preparation of requisitions.
• Assist in the preparation of the construction completion documentation.
• Ensure that the works are constructed to a good quality in line with the specification.
• Ensure that the required quality records are maintained.
• Produce data as required to facilitate accurate reporting for inclusion in Management Reports as requested by the site/project manager, including monthly SMQSE reports, Improve It reports, NCR reports, accident reports and waste returns.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

• BTEC National or HNC in Civil Engineering/Construction
• Levelling & Surveying experience (using total stations & automatic level)
