Assistant Estimator – Peterborough

Location:

Cambridgeshire (With Hybrid Working)

Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 (DOE) Plus Excellent Benefits Package

The Role:

Our client is a large engineering company who are delivering part of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme valued at over £1.2bn over the next five years, undertaking circa 800 infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects across the Anglian region.

They have a new vacancy for an Assistant Estimator where you will work towards establishing yourself as a proactive and solutions orientated estimating professional. Your main work scopes will include pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs as well as both water and water recycling treatment plants.

This is a great opportunity to work with a leading design and build contractor where you will be working closely with an experienced Estimator learning the processes, systems and methods that form the basis of good estimating techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with preparation of CAPEX Estimates
• Proactively maintain cost base by assisting with latest quotations and framework rates
• Utilise digital delivery and standardisation to develop cost models for items which are repeated from site to site
• Assist Estimator with identifying factors affecting costs, such as production time, materials, and labour
• Work closely with quantity surveyors
• Ensuring a smooth transition from estimating into cost management
• Analysing company data, rates and prices using specialist estimating software packages

Experience:

• Engineering or Quantity Surveying Degree
• Experience with in Estimating and Estimating Software
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office 365
• Ability to prioritise with strong organisation skills
• Good analytic skills
