Clean Water Process Engineer

Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry who are looking to strengthen their engineering team with a Process Engineer for their Southern Water joint venture framework working on projects in Kent and East Sussex. This is a unique role for a clean water specialist, bridging the design teams with the site commissioning and operations teams, ensuring designs meet DWI regulations, supporting the development of the commissioning plan and reviewing technical documentation whilst also being the front of house to the client through the commissioning phase.

You will report directly to the Programme Manager and duties/responsibilities of the role will include:

• Supporting clean water projects identify and mitigate WQ risks and constraints
• Working with Client Operational Teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with the delivery of Capital works on the site
• Advise and review process design and process operation techniques
• Design temporary solutions to support the process during Capital works activities
• Support works process commissioning
• Define the requirements for undertaking works where the process is impacted
• Assist Commissioning Engineers
• Liaise with Design Coordinator to ensure process requirements incorporated at design stage and to assist in Technical Governance
• Review of design deliverables, including process design, mass balance FDS, equipment and instrument lists, P&IDs, control philosophy
• Review and development of commissioning plans in conjunction with design intent
• Determine FAT and SAT, and process witness test requirements
• Assist in development of initial Commissioning Programme defining activities and resources
• Attend Client Progress & Commissioning Meetings
• Compile, review and audit commissioning documentation and deliverables
• Provide input into Commissioning Strategy Reviews and Documentation
• Liaise with sub-contractors regards process deliverables and interfaces
• Assist Training Coordinators in compilation of training deliverables and engage in SW Training sessions
• Assist O&M Coordinators in compilation and review of O&M Manuals
• Complete take over reports
• Liaise with project delivery team
• Coordinate operations and maintenance teams during project takeover
• Compile Reg 31 and other compliance documentation

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree Qualified in Chemical Engineering
• Experience of clean water process design
• Site integration and commissioning experience on clean water treatment plants
