Product Advisor – Uncrewed Surface Vessels (Navigation & Connectivity)

Join the Uncrewed Platforms division at Kongsberg Discovery as a Product Advisor and contribute to the development of cutting‑edge uncrewed surface vessels (USVs). We design and deliver advanced USVs, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), and support systems for both naval and civilian use.

Our USVs are self‑driving, equipped with world‑leading sensor technology, and can operate independently for up to 20 days, enabling safe and efficient maritime operations in demanding environments.

As a Product Advisor, you will contribute to the management of our USV product line and the product life cycle, with a particular focus on navigation and connectivity systems supporting both partly manned and unmanned operations. Your tasks will range from technical product management and documentation to sales support and follow‑up of development efforts. You will act as a product subject matter expert and help bridge sales, engineering, sub‑suppliers, customers, production, and projects to ensure robust, compliant solutions.

You will be part of our Product Department, responsible for the full Uncrewed Platforms product portfolio, working in a collaborative team with high competence across disciplines. To succeed, we believe you take initiative, collaborate well, work in a structured way, and care about quality. The role includes some travel (conferences, customer visits, shipyards and suppliers), and occasionally you may join operators and customers in the field.

• Drive product and life cycle management for USV navigation and connectivity systems (incl. associated sensors)
• Translate operational needs into product requirements and support documentation and requirements handling
• Provide product knowledge across the organization (projects, customer service, procurement, sales)
• Advise on, control, and facilitate product documentation within the domain
• Follow up and maintain oversight of development of new functionality and features
• Contribute to new USV designs with technical insights and system integration perspectives
• Contribute in delivery and development projects as needed

• Technical understanding of vessel navigation systems and connectivity, including integration and configuration
• Ability to combine equipment packages to comply with regulations and operational requirements
• Strong curiosity and interest in maritime technology
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant technical diploma (preferably within maritime subjects); relevant experience may compensate
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
  Norwegian is an advantage
• Proactive and resourceful in solving problems
• Structured approach and able to work through challenges
