Our client, a UK-based structural steel detailing specialist, is seeking a Mid-Level Tekla Modeller to join their established team in Saltburn-by-the-Sea. The business operates as part of a global engineering group and provides high-precision 3D modelling services to support major steel fabrication and erection projects across the United States.
This is a superb opportunity for a detailer with experience in Tekla Structures who is ready to take on more responsibility in a technically challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities- Create and manage accurate 3D Tekla Structures models for structural steelwork, aligned with U.S. fabrication standards.
- Produce fabrication-ready general arrangement drawings, part drawings, and assembly drawings.
- Generate material lists and Advance Bills of Materials (ABMs) to support production workflows.
- Coordinate closely with project managers and engineers to ensure constructability and compliance with detailing standards.
- Support drawing checks and revisions, contributing to internal quality assurance processes.
- Interpret engineering and architectural drawings to extract structural steel detailing requirements.
- HND, Degree or equivalent in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Alternatively, strong practical experience in structural steel modelling will be considered.
- Experience working with Tekla Structures in a steel detailing environment.
- Proven experience producing fabrication drawings for structural steelwork.
- Familiarity with AISC or other U.S. steel standards is advantageous.
- Proficient in the use of Tekla Structures (essential).
- Good understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes.
- Ability to read and interpret complex structural and connection drawings.
- Experience in ABM generation and drawing version control.
- High attention to detail and commitment to technical accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage deadlines and project priorities.
- Play a key role in high-profile, technically demanding U.S. construction projects.
