Overview
Job Title: Environmental Engineer
Summary: In this role, you will serve as the subject matter expert for Momentive’s Sistersville, WV facility, providing leadership and technical guidance on environmental compliance related to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), West Virginia Above Ground Storage Tank (AST) regulations, and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). You will play a key role in ensuring regulatory adherence and promoting environmental stewardship across site operations.
Please note that this role requires onsite presence five days per week, Monday through Friday. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Responsibilities- Compliance oversight of hazardous waste storage, satellite and container accumulation areas, above ground storage tanks, and water discharges.
- Preparing and submitting clear and concise regulatory agency reports and other required documentation.
- Lead teams regarding permitting strategy, implementation of controls, and directing compliance program development.
- Oversee operational area inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and determine applicability of NPDES and RCRA requirements for Momentive manufacturing operations.
- Leads teams or projects to modify and renew water quality and RCRA permits
- Coordinating drum and bulk waste shipments with transporters and disposal facilities and ensuring all required documentation is completed
- Fulfilling all obligations included in the NPDES, RCRA, and AST permits for the site.
- Identifies facility-specific compliance requirements related to water quality and RCRA stemming from new permits and changes in regulations, and documents clearly to support site implementation.
- Designs and implements improvements to water quality permitting and RCRA compliance programs and evaluates the effectiveness of internal programs, processes, and technology related to all water discharges.
- Engages with regulatory agencies on applicability of legal requirements for Momentive manufacturing facilities.
- Provides technical evaluations to the business on national, state, and local government on water quality rules or policies under development.
- Lead and participate in environmental audits of Momentive manufacturing areas, applying technical and regulatory expertise for water quality, AST, and RCRA programs.
- Develop and deliver training programs for the applicable regulations and permits for manufacturing employees.
- Serves as a backup for the wastewater engineer as needed.
- Provide technical support and assistance to operational departments on compliance items.
- Partner with operations and sustainability team to deliver waste reduction and recycle programs.
- Responsible for periodic, after-hours on-call response to environmental incidents as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
- B.S. in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering preferred
- 2 + years of experience in an Environmental Engineering role

What We OfferBase Pay Range: $81,500 - $119,350
The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable.
