The substitute school teacher is assigned to deliver a comprehensive program in accordance with state law and West Virginia Board of Education and county policies and regulations.

• Holds or qualifies for a West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate.
• Successfully complete all initial onboarding paperwork required by the Personnel Department, including a background check, drug screening, resume, letters of reference, past evaluations, and official copy of college transcripts.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Maintain confidentiality of student matters.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Effectively manage time and responsibilities.
• Professional in appearance, attitude, and demeanor.
• Adhere to Putnam County Policy 4.9 Employee Code of Conduct and Policy 4A.2 Employment of Substitute Teachers.

• Preferred:
  Bachelor's degree.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
