Two vacancies exist for Multi-Cat teachers at Mountain Ridge Primary School.

The successful applicant will work with special education students in accordance with their IEP. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Berkeley County Schools Teacher Pay Scale based upon degree level and verified years of experience. 200-day employment term.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, and demonstrate the knowledge and ability to be a qualified and effective candidate for the vacancy.

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and hold or be eligible for West Virginia licensure with endorsement(s) in Autism or special education certification that covers Autism, and Multi-Categorical Special Education with appropriate grade levels.

ABA trained is preferred but the successful applicant will be provided ABA training if needed.

If a certified candidate is unavailable for this position, then an applicant who is eligible for a first-class permit, alternative certification, Teacher-in-Residence, or a perm sub can be considered.

These positions will be filled based on the priority vote held on December 19, 2025. This vote was held in response to the consolidation of Gerrardstown Elementary and Inwood Primary Schools at the end of the  school year in accordance with the 2022 approved Bond measure; the teachers in the affected schools shall receive priority in filling classroom teaching positions at Mountain Ridge Primary School in compliance with WV Code 18A-4-8f.

Any positions not filled through the use of the priority vote will be reposted on or after April 1, 2026 and filled using the hiring matrix associated with WV Policy 5000.
