Job Summary/Basic Function
Provides comprehensive advising and leadership development for fraternity and sorority chapter leaders and governing councils, supporting organizational effectiveness, ethical leadership, risk management, and member development. Designs, implements, and assesses programs, recruitment processes, and signature events that promote student success, inclusivity, community engagement, and chapter sustainability. Oversees policy compliance, risk management, budgets, and data-informed assessment while serving as a key liaison among students, alumni, national organizations, and campus partners.
Minimum Qualifications
Understanding of the role of student organizations/fraternities and sororities in student success and retention.
Team building, mentorship, training, and leadership development experience.
Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Understanding of the Principles of ethical advising and supervision.
Relationship building through collaborations with campus departments Understanding of National Panhellenic Council (NPC) and Interfraternity Council (IFC) policies Experience working with FSL or campus-based student organizations preferred.
Strong communication, facilitation, and training skills.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to support student activities and events.

Job Duties
Description of Job Duties
Advising & Leadership Development
Advise chapter leaders and executive boards on organizational management, goal setting, risk management, and leadership development.
Meet regularly with chapter presidents and council officers to provide mentorship and support.
Coordinate leadership retreats, officer transition training, and educational programs.
Serve as the primary advisor for all fraternity and sorority governing councils (e.g., SFC, Panhellenic, and All-Greek Council).
Design and implement a member development framework aligned with leadership, ethics, wellness, civic engagement, and career readiness.
Program Development & Implementation
Develop and guide chapter leaders to plan, implement, and assess programs focused on leadership development, recruitment/intake, member education, and community engagement.
Collaborate with campus leaders on educational programming related to leadership, service, inclusivity, hazing prevention, and risk management.
Plan signature Greek Life events (e.g., Greek Week, recruitment/intake, awards banquets).
Develop and assess learning outcomes for FSL programs to ensure continuous improvement
Recruitment, Retention, and Membership Development
Oversee recruitment and intake processes for all chapters and councils in accordance with university and national organization policies.
Provide guidance on marketing, inclusivity, and value-based recruitment practices.
Track academic achievement and academic support needs of students in FSL groups and connect them with appropriate success resources to foster greater student retention.
Use data to inform strategies that support chapter sustainability, membership growth
Collaboration & Community Building
Maintain regular communication with chapter alumni, advisors and inter/national fraternity and sorority headquarters.
Serve as a liaison between chapters, national headquarters, alumni advisors, and campus administration.
Build partnerships with offices such as Residence Life, Student Conduct, and Student Community Services.
Foster positive relationships between Greek and non-Greek students.
Promote a positive public image for FSL through community engagement and strategic communication
Policy, Risk Management, & Compliance
Develop, interpret, and enforce fraternity and sorority life policies, procedures, and standards of conduct to enforce college, national organization and governing council policies.
Serve as a key partner in student conduct processes involving fraternity and sorority chapters.
