We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and adolescents, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to help them navigate challenges in their lives. This role requires an individual who is skilled in conflict management and has experience in social work or addiction counseling. As a Youth Counselor, you will play a vital role in fostering a safe and nurturing environment for youth to grow and thrive.
Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to youth, focusing on personal development, conflict resolution, and coping strategies.
- Educate youth on various life skills, including decision-making, communication, and problem-solving.
- Develop and implement engaging programs that promote positive behavior and emotional well-being.
- Mentor youth by building trusting relationships and offering guidance in academic, social, and personal matters.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to create comprehensive support plans for each youth.
- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, progress notes, and any incidents that occur.
- Facilitate workshops or group activities that address relevant topics such as addiction awareness or peer pressure.
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a counseling or mentoring capacity is preferred.
- QMHP
- Qualified Mental Health Professional highly desired - Background in social work or addiction counseling is highly desirable.
- Strong conflict management skills to effectively handle challenging situations with youth.
- Ability to educate and engage youth on important life skills and personal development topics.
- Excellent communication skills to foster positive relationships with youth, families, and colleagues.
- A compassionate approach with a genuine interest in helping young individuals achieve their potential.
