General SummaryFull-time, 12-month faculty employee contract. The normal workweek requires a five-day workweek and includes a minimum of 37.5 hours per week at an approved campus work site for instruction, office hours, and community and college service.
Instructors are responsible for teaching students in our training programs in classroom, hands-on lab settings, and clinical, ensuring that they gain the knowledge and skills required for entry-level employment in their chosen field. Instructors are also responsible for sound educational practices and the academic development of each student. Instructors will manage their classroom environment and promote a positive and engaging learning experience, provide support, tutoring and other assistance as needed.
Instructors are to “model" the professional behaviors, language, and activities expected of our students.

- Utilizes classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaged learning experience.
- Ensures that each student has been presented with the material to meet the learning objectives of each course within a student’s program of study.
- Ensures instructional materials and equipment are ready for student use, sufficient in quantity, and in working order prior to class time.
- Maintains a solid understanding of College goals and priorities as they relate to the student experience.
- Participates in ongoing faculty assessment and professional development activities to ensure an active and engaged classroom experience; maintains required certification and license.
- Actively participates in meetings, reviews assessment data, compiles reports, and meets academic and administrative deadlines.
- Ensures campus compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory guidelines, along with internal policies of the college.
- Manages financial resources in accordance with College policies and values within the college’s fiscal realities.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a one-year diploma program or have an associate degree in a related medical field
- Three years’ experience as a medical assistant
- Effective in teaching and knowledgeable in the MAERB Core Curriculum content included in their assigned teaching as documented by education or experience in the designated content area and have documented education in instructional methodology.

- Computer proficiency utilizing routine office software such as MS Office Suite, email, internet, database/s, and virtual meeting platforms required.
- Exceptional oral and written communication; organization and problem-solving; planning; and interpersonal skills consistent with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Good communication skills with the ability to deal constructively with difficult situations and people and to resolve conflicts rationally and judiciously.
- Ability to work with people of various viewpoints, cultural backgrounds, and skill levels.
