SY26:
Lunch Hour Aide, 2 hrs. (11:00-1:00) / 10 mos, Potomac ES, TPT

Under general supervision, monitors student activities and behavior on the playground and during student lunch periods. May monitor class during testing or brief absence of a teacher; may assist teachers in classroom activities, and perform general clerical tasks.

• Monitor class during testing or brief absence of teacher; assist teachers in classroom activities as needed.
• Perform general clerical tasks.
• Enforce safety rules, appropriate behavior standards, and playground/cafeteria rules and procedures.

• Knowledge of applicable school regulations, practices and procedures, or ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge.
• Knowledge of games appropriate for play during recess; knowledge of child development with emphasis on elementary students.
• Knowledge of student behavior management techniques.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff and others.
• Ability to monitor elementary students and supervise playground and recreational activities; communicate with students during lunch periods.
• Patience and strong human relations skills; ability to work with children.
• Knowledge of and ability to meet the seven core competencies of the SSPGS (Supporting Services Professional Growth System).

• High School or GED diploma required.
• Experience working with children of elementary school age.
• Other combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Certificate/Licenses:
  First aid and CPR certificate desirable.
